We reached our goal of sending 100,000 meals to Haiti in just three months.  Our vision now is for one million!

In the wake of a devastating earthquake, an estimated 200,000 Haitians lost their lives, and 1.5 million people were left homeless.  In what is already the Western hemisphere's poorest nation, the degree of suffering is now compounded. For many,the scarce basis of a livelihood that they once had, has now been lost.  The UN's World Food Program has stated that two million people need to be fed every day.

Our Kids Against Hunger meals consist of soy, rice, dried vegetables, along with 21 vitamins and minerals. This food is specifically designed to reverse the process of hunger in children who are dying of starvation.

Schedule A Packing Event

YWAM Minneapolis is part of the Kids Against Hunger network, whose members have the goal of sending 10 million meals to Haiti over the next 3 months. Through our partnership with Kids Against Hunger,YWAM has the equipment, expertise and a portion of the raw materials we need to meet our goal of providing 100,000 meals.  We are in need of financial contributions for the purchase of materials and delivery, and we are in need of volunteers to help us pack the food.

In a 14 oz bag, we can pack 6 servings, at the cost of just 23 cents per meal.  Every individual who can raise $30 and give 2 hours of his or her time, will provide a meal for 130 children.

Hunger is a major global concern.

• Every six seconds, a child dies from hunger-related causes.
• One out of every three children around the world is mal-nourished.
• Over one billion people in the world do not have enough food to eat.
• Under-nutrition contributes to the death of over 5 million children under the age of five every year.
• 700,000 deaths could be prevented each year simply by providing the recommended daliy allowances of Vitamin A and Zinc.
• There is enough food in the world for everyone to have a healthy and a productive life.
