The theme of YWAM is "To know God and to make Him known." The DTS focuses on the first part: what it means to "know God". Emphasis is placed on heart transformation and character development, not on the accumulation of knowledge. It's a journey to discover the heart of God and learn His ways. The goal of our DTS teaching is personal application in your relationship with Christ. While presentations may vary, the following general topics are addressed in each DTS:

Principles for healthy inter-personal relationships
Biblical study principles and methods
The nature and character of God
Missions and cross-cultural ministry
Principles for intimacy with Christ
The life of a disciple
Discovering your calling and purpose
The meaning of worship
Principles of prayer and intercession
Gaining Christ's perspective on your past, present, and future

BILINGUAL SCHOOLS

Each DTS which begins in January (followed by the SOE in July) will be conducted in English and Spanish (teaching in English with translation into Spanish). YWAM Minneapolis draws students from several Spanish speaking countries. To the English speaking student, these schools provide excellent opportunities for cross-cultural exposure and for learning Spanish.
